We congratulate the Class of 2019 on their outstanding results.

Fifteen students received study scores of 50/50 in one or more subjects, leading to a total of 18 perfect student scores across nine subjects. The subjects are Drama, English (8 students), English (EAL), Further Mathematics, Literature (3 students), Media, Music, Philosophy, and Physics.

*This graph compares Melbourne Grammar School’s 2019 results with our school sector (schools with similar characteristics) and those of Victoria as a whole. State and sector information relates to 2018, rather than 2019, as the 2019 data was not available at the time of publication. However, this data varies only very marginally each year.

Melbourne Grammar students worked extremely hard for these outcomes and have readily supported each other with kindness and consideration, warmly celebrating their collective achievements throughout the year.

While an ATAR is important for a moment in time, it is important to remember that it does not define a person’s achievement at school. There is so much more to each of our young men.

Many students within this cohort have also taken advantage of the opportunities available to them at the School outside the classroom, dedicating time and effort to the rostrum, the easel, the stage or the sporting field while some have worked towards improving social justice and inclusivity. At Melbourne Grammar, we firmly believe that a well-rounded education is the very best education and applaud our students’ endeavour in pursuing wider interests.

Of course, the students have been led by an outstanding group of teaching staff here at the School – for some since their first day of school. Congratulations to these individuals for their professionalism, teaching proficiency, and genuine care for their students.

We hope that our graduating students leave with an open mind and an open heart, well prepared to make a positive difference to the life that lies before them.
