Pop Art: Blast into the future

Year 11 students designed and developed promotional and advertising material for a hypothetical upcoming exhibition to be held as part of the NGV Winter Masterpieces Exhibition 2021 – Pop Art: Blast into the Future. A promotional poster and banner was required as well as the design of the front and back covers of the exhibition catalogue.

There was an emphasis on Pop Art in this project. 1960s Pop Art was known for its focus on elevating the banal and mundane to an iconic and reverential status.

Some of the iconic imagery that students have used to effectively and creatively to promote the exhibition include Vegemite jars, face masks and Melbourne trams.
