Artists: Year 3 students, 2020
Medium: Sculpture
Here, Year 3 students present aluminium forms they constructed which were inspired by Alberto Giacometti’s artworks. Giacometti was a Swiss painter, printmaker and sculptor whose line portraits and sculptures detail life, emotion and human existence post the Second World War.
Students reflected on the expression of his subjects and frail and elongated form of his human figures.
This collection of aluminium sculptures by students highlights how they have considered working with this material to manipulate, position and create their form to express movement, function and emotion.
The artwork in this exhibition was produced during a period of off-campus learning.
