Art, Home and Place

Artists: Year 10 students, 2020
Medium: Digital artwork

Australian artists, Ian Strange and Howard Arkley, communicated the notion of ‘Home’ through their artworks.

Using their interpretations as inspiration, Year 10 students firstly photographed their own home, focussing on a traditional composition with a foreground, middle-ground and background. Looking closer at Arkley’s use of colour, line, texture and pattern, the boys set about transforming the image of their homes. Using colour as an emotive tool as well as a mechanism to emphasise the illusion of three-dimensional space, some students also used filters and various brushes to create texture and pattern to a great effect.

The artwork in this exhibition was produced during a period of off-campus learning.
