Artists: Prep students, 2020
Medium: Various
Prep students were entertained by a video showcasing the life, art and studio set up of Brazilian artist, painter and sculptor Romero Britto. His work combines cubism and pop art and is a strong example of the elements of line, shape, colour and pattern.
Britto’s works use vibrant colours and bold patterns as a visual expression of hope, dreams, and happiness. Students striking creations of love hearts and teddy bears referenced Britto’s happy energy and visual aesthetic using coloured pencils, textas and paints.
The artwork in this exhibition was produced during a period of off-campus learning.
