American artist Jasper Johns was the inspiration behind this body of work.
John’s artworks are iconic in subject featuring letters, numbers, maps and the American flag.
Influenced by his style of work, students produced their pieces with a strong sense of personal identity. Their names, initials, numbers and dates of relevance are prominently featured along with a well-considered placement and inclusion of font, line, shape, pattern and colour.
All artworks have been executed with pencils or textas with some students opting for the media arts alternative using a drawing app to create their camouflaged numbers.
The artwork in this exhibition was produced during a period of off-campus learning.
