Artists: Prep students, 2020
Medium: Texta
Prep students were introduced to Pointillism through the pioneers of this technique, Georges Seurat and Paul Signac. Students learnt that Seurat’s ‘Sunday Afternoon on the Island of Grande Jatte’, was not only his most famous painting, but one that took him two years to complete.
Students explored placing dots in close proximity to one another using texta and within a traced circle template. This task required focused attention to achieve neatly drawn and executed dots in their chosen design.
The artwork in this exhibition was produced during a period of off-campus learning.
