Wassily Kandinsky Circles

Artists: Year 1 students, 2020
Medium: Various

Inspired by Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky, Year 1 students identified shapes, lines and colours within his works and how his compositions are classed as abstract art.

With a focus on layered shapes and concentric circles, students displayed their understanding through their art making.

Some of the examples feature layered circle shapes created through the process of tracing circular objects and colouring each space a different colour. Other artworks explored concentric circle designs through collage techniques and media artworks using a drawing app on the iPad.

The artwork in this exhibition was produced during a period of off-campus learning.
