The Melbourne Grammar School Symphony Orchestra staged a wonderful concert on 24 March 2021 under the leadership of conductor, Pat Miller. Just on 80 students participated on stage, highlighting their accomplished performance skills.
Highlights included:
- the world premiere of a specially commissioned piece by Australian composer Daniel Riley titled Roadrunner
- solo violinist, David Kim, performing Wieniawski’s Légende
- a special rendition of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf with support from Narrators, Edward Davis & Sam Negri and a guest appearance by Philip Grutzner, Headmaster
- a suite from John Williams’ scores from Harry Potter movies, performed to a montage of images from the films
